FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the community edition.

How does the community edition differ from the enterprise edition?

The community edition is an open-source desktop shell: it runs the locked upstream Harness and preserves its native plugin system without introducing a second plugin API or replacing Harness business logic. An enterprise edition is in planning; details will be announced once decided.

Are my API key and data uploaded anywhere?

No. Your API key stays on your device (BYOK) and app data stays local. Diagnostics bundles are exported manually by you and are redacted by default.

How do I make sure my download was not tampered with?

Source builds and previews are not signed or notarized releases. The download page lists checksums, signatures and verification commands only after a real artifact passes the release gates.

Which platforms are supported?

Version one supports Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later only. Windows x64 and Linux x64 have moved to later stages; no installers or support claims will be published before their native evidence is approved.

Where do I get help?

Check the documentation first. If the issue persists, use the GitHub channels listed on the community page — attaching a diagnostics export (redacted by default) helps us help you.
