Pin upstream, fix the runtime and make recovery and diagnostics visible to the user.
Harness stays Harness
The desktop shell runs the locked upstream Harness and preserves its native plugin system. It does not introduce a second plugin API or replace Harness business logic.
A reproducible local runtime
The desktop package is designed to carry an exact Node.js runtime and a commit-pinned Harness source closure, reducing machine-to-machine setup drift.
Recovery you can see and control
Startup failures use stable error codes, bounded retries and explicit recovery actions. Diagnostics are previewed before a user-confirmed local export and are never uploaded automatically.
